To record a sound to the midi format you have to use midi instruments
(midi keyboard, virtual midi instruments ...)
It is not possible to record sounds directly to midi format since midi
is an interpreted format. However there is midi to mp3 converters
but unfortunately there is a high possiblity to be disappointed
by the result.
